History
Department of Electrical Engineering
The Engineering department of Timiryazev Agricultural Academy was founded in 26th of September 1894.
In 1930 the Engineering Faculty of the Academy was transformed to an independent Institute of Water Economy.
In 1947, based on the electrical laboratory which had existed since 1922, the department of Electrical Stations and Electrical Engineering was founded. Professor Mikhail Fedorovich Poyarkov was invited to lead the department. M.F. Poyarkov was leading the department until 1966 and remained as a consultant until 1972.
The following members of the department assisted in its establishment and organization:
Lab Manager from 1951 and Assistant from 1952 to 1961 - B.T. Shapovalov. From 1966 to 1973 B.T. Shapovalov was working as a Docent.
At various times the department was led by:
DSc, Professor B.V. Belyaev (1966-)
Academician, DSc, Professor L.G. Prishep (1979-1994)
Since 1994 Dr V.V. Goloborod'ko has been the head of the department.

Lab Assistant M.E. Nepsha (1950-1975),

Lab Manager I.P. Zotov.
In 1980 the department was renamed "Electrical Engineering, Electrification and Automation of Hydromelioration Systems".
