The department was established in 1976 by Professor, DSc D.T. Zuzik, who led the department until 1979. Before 1976 the Economics course was taught by the department of exploitation of hydro-melioration systems: Professor D.T. Zuzik, Docents K.P. Arent, V.E. Vedenyapin (head of the department from 1979 to 1986), E.N. Gorbunova. From 1986 the department has been led by the Honored Ameliorator of RF, Professor, Dr. K.P. Arent. The course "Economics of water economy" was first taught in 1937-1939 by Professor N.A. Rozov. From 1939 Professor, DSc in Agriculture D.T. Zuzik taught the course. D.T. Zuzik was invited from Leningrad by Academician A.N. Kostyakov who was a supporter of teaching concrete, profile oriented Economics, instead of general propositions of Political Economy with which the course was usually saturated. From 1974 under the initiative of D.T. Zuzik the preparation of engineers-economists started and in 1976 the department "Economics of water economy" was founded. Head of the department was D.T. Zuzik and it employed 8 lecturers. In 1979 the department "Water Economy Management" was formed from a number of staff of "Economics of Water Economy". From 1980 to 1986 the department of Economics of Water Economy was led by Docent, Dr. V.E. Vedenyapin, and from 1987 it has been led by Professor, Dr. K.P. Arent. From 1994 the department initiated the preparation of students on the specialty of "Economics and Management of enterprises using natural resources" which is currently offered by 20 tertiary institutions of Russia. |
