Staff of the department has developed a program for the pre-diploma practice:   Pre-diploma practice is in a way the last stage of the education as such and the first stage of the work on the diploma assignment.   The 5th year students spend 4 weeks in institutions of mechanization, use and maintenance of roads, building and other transport and technological machines as well as service, repair and maintenance enterprises.   Students who have signed contracts with their future employers, as a rule, have their practical experience with them.   During the practice the students get to know the structure of the enterprise, technology and organization of operation and in general issues necessary in their future engineering activities.   Diploma projects as a rule are based on real problems related to the improvement of use and maintenance of machines, design and reconstruction of enterprises, development of technological processes etc.   The topic for the project is chosen before the practice and is revised and updated during the practice. During the practice the student is also collecting the materials necessary for the project.   The general supervision of the practice is done by the Head of the department and the members of the staff responsible for the project.   Recommended reading   1.
