MOSCOW STATE UNIVERSITY OF ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEERING
HISTORY
The Department (Chair) was founded in 1894 by professor V. A. Mikhelson within the Petrov Academy.
In 1930, when MHMI was created, the Department was transferred to the Institute.
The position of the Head of Department was held by: Prof. D. T. Ivanenko (until 1930), Docent Vsesviatskiy (1930-1941), Prof. V. L. Rusakov (1945-1952), Docent V. P. Dubov (1953-1961), Senior Lecturer O. A. Nemirovskaya (1963-1964), Prof. T. Ya. Gorazdovskiy (1964-1977), Docent Speranskiy (1977-1978), Academician, Prof. N. N. Sirota (1978-1989), and from 1989 - Prof. V. P. Kovaliov.
