HISTORY
Department of Information Technology and Applied Mathematics
The department was founded in 1977. Originally the department was led by Docent E.P. Kondakov and later - by Professor S.M. Smirnov.
The first computer of the department was "Promin", then "Nairi", skillfully handled and modernized by Engineer A.I. Komkov.
In 1969 the computer centre based on ES-1022 and led by V.A. Fartukov was established.
In the end of 1980s the first Soviet Personal Computers "Iskra" were obtained.
Currently a LAN consisting of 30 IBM compatible PCs is functioning.
The subjects taught in the department originally included DOS, Fortran, Algol, Basic, Pascal. Currently it is MS Windows, Excel, object oriented programming languages.
