Educational practice in agricultural melioration takes place according to the plans of the educational process. Its duration is 1-2 weeks depending on specialisation. Total number of students having educational practice is 450.
For the successful performance of educational practice the Department has prepared a special program and instructions; every year a practice plan confirmed by the de-partment is drawn up. Also confirmed are the melioration objects of the practice. Each object has a responsible for it member of the Staff in Moscow (prof. S. P. Ilyin, T. N. Surikova, L. F. Pestov, docents A. N. Kabanov, A. P. Averyanov, V. V. Pcholkin, Yu. I. Sukharev, S. A. Maximov, O. S. Bakhlaeva, A. V. Nikishin; Senior Lecturers M. I. Novikova, A. I. Maslov) or a member of the Staff of the branch "Raduga" (head of the branch docent V. F. Nosenko, docent N. V. Danil'chenko, PhD V. G. Duikiy, G. E. Fomin).
The following locations (objects) are selected for the educational practice: pavilion "Melioration and Water Resources Management" of ÄÖØÑ ÑÑÑÐ, Zamoskvoretskiy river bank drainage and other.
Every group receives a calendar-graph for the practice with the date, time and responsible teachers specified for each location. Similar graphs for the purposes of the assessments of the results are given to Deaneries of the corresponding Faculties and to the head of practice in the educational department.
A meeting with the students also takes place before the beginning of the practice.
In the object "Raduga" the students study modern methods of research in irrigation technology, perspectives of its development, existing fragments of the irrigation technology, bases of modular project design with the use of computers, operational control of watering with the use of meteorological data and computers.
In the laboratories of the department the students acquaint themselves with bases of research, and watch educational films on melioration.
For the students that for various reasons (sickness, pregnancy, single mothers with a small child etc.) cannot leave Moscow, a special graph for their practice in "Za-mos-kvo-retskiy river bank drainage", pavilion "Melioration and Water Resources Management" of EAPE (Exhibition of Achievements of People's Economy) of Russia or in the laboratories of the department is devised.
In the pavilion "Melioration and Water Resources Management" of EAPE of Russia under the supervision of the responsible for the practice teachers and the Exhibition staff the students study the advanced experience in melioration constructions and scientific achievements in the area of melioration. They can also see fragments of the perspective elements of irrigation techniques, laser devices used in melioration constructions.
In "Zamoskvoretskiy river bank drainage" the students can see the exclusive features of the construction of the river bank drainage and the effectiveness if its function.
In the object "Dubna" the students perform independent tasks according to the appropriate program and methodology.
In the object "Zagorskaya" the students can see the construction of parts of electro station and acquaint themselves with the principles of the station's work. The accommodation and food for the students are provided together with the necessary living, social and cultural conditions. During their practice the students live in two wooden houses (former school and teacher's house) and three mobile homes.
The Department systematically has reviews of the educational practice and takes the necessary measures for its improvement.
Industrial Practice |
The industrial practice takes place in various research, project and construction institutions, of the system of melioration and water resources management. During the practice most of the students work in special "columns" as technicians, masters, superintendents etc. After the practice students of the on-campus education present to the department a report on their practice. Distance education students receive their marks after their presentation, diaries and reports are examined. The best works are then recommended to be presented in various conferences.
The main purpose of the pre-diploma practice is to become acquainted with the corresponding activities and collect material for the diploma project. The choice of place for the practice and supervision are realised by a docent of the department. Distance education students are given a program of practice which is prepared by the department. In the end of the practice students submit a report with the materials for the diploma project which are then examined and a corresponding "pass" or "fail" mark is given.
