The results of R&D of the Problem Research Laboratory are constantly implemented into the educational process and are used in the diplomas and PhD theses. Here are some of the results of our R&D used in the educational process:

- Methods of substantiation and effectiveness of melioration;
- Methodology of calculation of projected productivity as function of the water regime;
- Optimization of the regime of irrigation;
- Quantitative method of the multifactor estimate of the "typicality" of territories;
- Methodology of substantiation of the drainage parameters and irrigation regime in the drained lands;
- Methodology of optimization of the water-salt regime of soils and parameters of the drainage in the irrigation systems;
- Methodological textbook on the requirements of plants to the water, food and heat regimes of soils;
- Optimization of the water regime by the criterion of the balanced water exchange in the aeration zone;
- Prognosis of the carrying out of biogenic substance from the ameliorative territories;
- Probabilistic ecological estimate of the state of an ecological system as a result of anthropogenic activities;
- Optimization of the distribution of water between the agricultural products in crop rotation;
- Textbook on calculation of the loss of carbon and utilization of available forms of nitrogen and phosphorus as a result of microbiological activity;
- Recommendations of water quality control in ameliorative systems by a complex of hydro-chemical and hydro-biological indicators;

In the Pushkin jubilee year 1999 the R&D results for the Pushkin museum-sanctuary were implemented into the educational process of the Melioration and Recultivation of Agricultural Lands Department and the Department of Economics of Water Management. The materials of the R&D were used in two diploma projects:

· Development of a system of measures to restore and sustain landscapes in the museum-sanctuary "Mikhailovskoe", 1999.
· Social technico-economical substantiation of the project of preservation and development of the State museum-sanctuary "Mikhailovskoe", 1999. This diploma was awarded a special prize.

Based on the results of the R&D in 2001 the "Methodology for evaluation of the acceptable effect of anthropogenic projects on the autotrophic chain under conditions of climate change" was developed. It is now successfully implemented into the 5th year student assignments of "Ecological Expertise" subject. The methodology includes the following sections:

1. Evaluation of existing climate conditions from the indicators of the water regime of soil and air temperature;
2. Formation of different scenarios of changing climate conditions;
3. Calculation of the productivity of an agro-landscape under different scenarios depending on its basic indicators;
4. Development of the necessary measures for the improvement of the stability and productivity of an agro-landscape under different scenarios;
5. Economical evaluation of agricultural lands different scenarios of changing climate conditions.

As a result of the calculations for the agro-landscapes in different zones an economical (including cost-) evaluation of agricultural lands is performed.

The Laboratory actively participates in the preparatory education of high-school students in engineer-ecological classes and provides its computer facilities to the Preparatory Faculty of MSUEE. Using the materials of the Laboratory and the obtained knowledge these students write a 30-page beautifully designed assignment. All of them in 2001 have successfully passed the entry exams to MSUEE.

In 1999 in the Laboratory a special class for the high-school students of the 7-10 year was established. About 80 students from the high schools ¹970 and ¹759 participate in these preparatory courses which help them later to successfully pass the entry exams.
